I'm to Blogger

I have registered here in 2008..but very recently started blogging..
Thought it will be just a waste of time to creating pages posts and stuff like that. But after realizing the service a blog can provide start my self writing.

Adempiere

what is it?

I think you may have already heard about the term Enterprise Open Source (EOS), this is  another competitive advancement in open source world. During past few years proprietary enterprise softwares like SAP, Microsoft Dynamics has played a vital role in ERP requirements but to compete with them there weren't much tools at that time. I personally believe Compiere was a good start and it became a good challenge to those proprietary softwares (Sad to say that it was acquired by an Indonesian company few days ago ).
After sometime around 2006 Openberavo was forked from Compiere and became a good hit to ERP industry. After few months from the first release of Openbravo there comes our topic object Adempiere ; which is far more advanced and rich in features than the mother Compiere that it was forked by.
This EOS solution came up bundled with ERP, SCM, CRM, POS, etc... to the market and established with the gathering of a large community around it. Following feature list clearly depicts why it got so popular in a short period of time
  • Sales: Quotes to Invoice, Proposals, POS, Sales Orders, Work Orders, Invoicing, Shipment
  • Purchasing: Purchase Requisition, RfQ, Purchase Order, Material Reciept, Invoicing
  • Material Management: Inventory Control, Warehouse Management, Replenishment, Stock Movement, Stock Count, Price List, Bill of Materials
  • Finance: General Ledger , Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Financial Reporting, Cash Management Budgeting, VAT/TAX/IVA
  • Human Resource: Payroll, Payroll Concepts, Payroll Rule Engine
  • Project Management, Manufacturing, Customer Relationship Management , POS, ecommerce
Think this brief intro is enough for now. More on this will be explained in the coming posts.
